TEXAS – A colder Wednesday is approaching with the possibility of winter precipitation for several areas of North Texas.
The Texas Department of Transportation prepared the streets early and placed a water and salt chemical on them to prevent them from freezing.
In Fort Worth, officials explained to the Telemundo 39 team that they are working with multiple departments to be prepared and have at least 8 trucks on standby in case they need to activate them.
“To respond and treat ramps, main arteries of the city and especially emergency entrances to the hospital,” said Carlos Gómez, officer of the Fort Worth Department of Emergency Management, about the trucks.
The city of Dallas will provide hotel rooms to the homeless, while Fort Worth will have heating centers from Tuesday night through Thursday.
For those who work outdoors, it is recommended to be warm and to try to wear three layers of thin clothing but to protect them as much as possible.
One of the important details is that the fire department asks the community not to use gas heaters or stoves to heat their homes.
In addition, it is requested that you do not leave heating systems unattended and keep children three feet away from them as well as any flammable object.
