Jakarta (VNA) – Ambassador Vu Ho, head of the Delegation of Vietnamese Officials Responsible for ASEAN Affairs (SOM ASEAN Vietnam), attended the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting in Jakarta, Vietnam on September 3. Indonesia, to review preparations for the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related meetings.
The meetings are scheduled to take place from September 5 to 7 and include around 20 activities.
The leaders of ASEAN countries and their partners will participate in events such as the 43rd ASEAN Summit, ASEAN 1 summits with partners such as China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the States States, India, Russia, Canada and the United Nations, ASEAN 3 and the East Asia Summit.
SOM heads of ASEAN countries reviewed and mostly completed draft documents for high-level meetings expected to adopt and acknowledge nearly 100 documents covering various areas of cooperation within the ASEAN bloc , as well as with external partners, and measures to enhance the effectiveness of ASEAN activities.
Reflecting on activities in 2023, they spoke highly of the practical priorities set for building the ASEAN Community, helping to promote trade, investment and economic recovery while accelerating digitalization, green growth and sustainable development. In the region. They aim to give impetus to ASEAN cooperation in the coming years, with the aim of realizing “ASEAN Status: Epicenter of Growth”. – VNA
