Honda unveiled the SP version of its new flagship “CB1000 Hornet” on the European market on October 15, 2024.
Equipped with the same 4-cylinder engine “CBR1000RR Fireblade”.
On October 15, 2024, Honda announced the SP version of its new flagship “CB1000 Hornet” in the European market.
The Hornet name will be revived in Europe with the CB750, which will be released in 2023. The combination of a sleek street-fighting silhouette, exciting power and razor-sharp agility has won plenty of praise and impressive sales, remain the best-selling naked bike in Europe in 2023.
The history of the Hornet goes back to the late 1990s when it appeared as the “CB600F Hornet” equipped with a 4-cylinder CBR engine. The Hornet CB900F was released in the early 2000s, and its reputation spread, giving the Hornet name a unique identity.
To be a Hornet, a bike has to be fast, fun and affordable.
This trend continues with the arrival of the CB500 Hornet in 2024, and the 2025 model year brings the new CB1000 Hornet and CB1000 Hornet SP, the flagship models of today’s Hornet family.
The SP model is equipped with the powerful engine from the Fireblade 2017 CBR1000RR, which has even more power and torque compared to the CB1000 Hornet (115.6kW / 107Nm vs. 111.6kW / 105Nm).
Incorporating parts from Ohlins and Brembo, the CB1000 Hornet SP combines a powerful combination of powerful 4-cylinder performance and sharp handling with sharp sportiness.
Throttle by Wire (TBW) offers three custom riding modes with a variety of presets for power, engine braking, wheel control and HSTC settings, as well as two user options that allow the rider to select their preferred settings .
A quickshifter is standard, and a 5-inch TFT screen provides intuitive control, clarity in bright light and easy connection to your smartphone through a simple switch on the left handlebar.
The innovative appearance of the CB1000 Hornet SP, designed in Japan, was developed based on two key words: “aggressive” and “pure.”
For the design team, the Hornet’s massive rear styling, which combines sensuality and mass balance, is an expression of unadorned aggression.
Driven by a sharp line of sight from the compact dual-LED projector headlights (all LED lights), the Hornet’s unique fuel tank is styled to give the impression of a wing folded forward.
A blacked-out frame is also a design feature, supporting the line, as is a trellis-style rear subframe.
The engine and swingarm are also finished in black, and the handlebar has a new steel design.
