Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government has officially determined the type of gasoline (BBM) with an octane rating (RON) of 90 aka Pertalite as a Special Assignment Fuel Oil Type (JBKP).
The regulation is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 37.K/HK.02/MEM.M/2022 concerning Types of Special Oil Fuel for Assignment.
With this regulation, the position of Premium gasoline (RON 88), which was previously JBKP, is officially replaced by Pertalite. This regulation was signed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif and set in Jakarta on March 10, 2022.
“Determining changes in the type of fuel oil specifically for the assignment of the type of gasoline (gasoline) minimum RON 88 to be a Special Type of Fuel Oil Assignment type of gasoline (gasoline) RON 90,” reads the first point of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 37.K/2022.
In the second point of the contents of this Decree, it is also stated that “The area of assignment for the supply and distribution of Special Assignment Fuel Oil Types as referred to in the First Dictum covers the entire territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.”
Meanwhile, in the third point of the regulation, it is explained that the selling price of Pertalite is set at Rp 7,650 per liter. This amount includes Value Added Tax (PPN) and Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax (PBBKB).
In addition, this regulation also stipulates that the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) regulates, supervises, and controls the allocation of the volume of supply and distribution of Special Oil Fuel Types for Assignment (JBKP).
This Ministerial Decree itself comes into force on the date of stipulation and is retroactive from January 1, 2022.
Thus, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 1851 K/15/MEM/2018 concerning Provision and Distribution of Special Assignment Fuel Types in the Province of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, Banten Province, West Java Province, Central Java Province, East Java Province, Special Region of Yogyakarta Province and the Province of Bali is revoked and declared invalid.
As is known, with the official inclusion of Pertalite gasoline into the JBKP, Premium gasoline sold at Pertamina gas stations has so far been removed.
This means that the public will no longer find Premium gasoline at Pertamina’s gas stations, including in areas where Premium is still selling.
This was confirmed by Committee Member of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Saleh Abdurrahman.
“Which is sold to the public by Pertalite,” Saleh told CNBC Indonesia, Friday (4/1/2022).
