Directed by host Michael Lakner, audience favorites Clemens Kerschbaumer, Sieglinde Feldhofer, Franz Frickel, Verena Barth-Jurca, Nicole Lubinger and Beppo Binder perform.

Since Sunday, one of the happiest and most upbeat Strauss operettas, “Wiener Blut”, has been on the Baden stage’s program.

“Free Love” and “Viennese Humor”

“Wiener Blut” is intended to be a plea for “free love” and “Viennese humor”, which ultimately no one can escape, not even an overly correct Saxon Prime Minister.

The easy-going bon vivant Count Balduin Zedlau has difficulty organizing his numerous amorous affairs. In the absence of his wife Gabriele, he has furnished his country villa near Vienna for his lover, the dancer Franziska Cagliari, which does not prevent him from flirting with the prostitute Pepi. When all three of his sweethearts appear at the same time at a ball, the situation becomes extremely precarious for the count. The complications are resolved at the Heurigen in Hietzing. And what was to blame for all the confusion? Viennese blood.

Operetta by Johann Strauss Jr.

Under the direction of host Michael Lakner, audience favorites Clemens Kerschbaumer, Sieglinde Feldhofer, Franz Frickel, Verena Barth-Jurca, Nicole Lubinger and Beppo Binder will perform in the operetta by Johann Strauss Jr. Andy Lee Lang will make his debut at the Baden stage as carousel owner Kagler and will also demonstrate his skills as a pianist. The musical direction is in the proven hands of Michael Zehetner.
