Premiere of Ingeborg as Queen Mathilde is also…

The Winterrevue by director Stany Crets – and with Ingeborg as special guest – premiered on Sunday in Antwerp. Remarkable: that happened in front of a room of 800 spectators. That could be the case for a few more hours.

The premiere in Theater Elckerlyc, in the presence of a number of BVs, was the last performance for the time being. The show had only been played twice for the public the days before.

On the day of the first performance, Friday, the Consultation Committee decided that indoor events with more than 200 people can no longer take place from Monday. “One thing was certain from the start,” said director Stany Crets (56). “We would play the tiles of the roof for another weekend. Now we will say goodbye for a while.”

Media figure Ingeborg (55) is the central figure in the performance Made in Belgium. In this way she takes on the role of Queen Mathilde. “The decision of the Consultation Committee was hard. I’ve never seen Stany Crets so emotional.” Ingeborg feels “sad and angry”.

The Winter revue would normally play until mid-January 2022. The other performances will take place at a new time, as soon as it is clear for how long the closure of the theaters in Flanders is required. (dhs)
