R.Evolución Latina, in collaboration with Pregones/PRTT, premieres the show “BARBA: A Brazilian Body Percussion Musical”, under the direction of acclaimed director and choreographer Luis Salgado. This innovative theatrical production, which fuses music, dance and theater, pays tribute to the life and legacy of Fernando Barba, a prominent Brazilian musician whose talent for creating music with his own body has been a source of inspiration for multiple generations. It will be presented at the Pregones Theater in the South Bronx (575 Walton Ave.), with limited performances from February 22 to 25. Contemporary Ballet at Lincoln Center

Acclaimed American choreographer Alonzo King and his company Alonzo King LINES Ballet will make their Lincoln Center debut with “Deep River,” a contemplative and intense work. King has been recognized internationally as one of the most important choreographers of his time. His work fuses dance with spiritual music from black, Jewish and Indian traditions and he claims that it is a reminder that “love is the ocean from which we emerge, in which we swim, and to which one day we will return”, and that when cultivated deeply, it can liberate us. Orchid exhibition in the Botanical Garden

The Orchid Show: Florals in Fashion, a celebration inspired by all things orchids, premiered at the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG). “The Colors of Frida” in Spanish Repertory

Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra Concert
