By first time in Mexico and translated into Spanishhe Tec de Monterrey presents the musical comedy Something Rotten!which was nominated for 10 Premios Tonyan award that highlights the best of theater.
The musical of American origin that satirizes the world of theater in the Renaissance era, will have 5 functions from November 22 to 24 in the Luis Elizondo Auditorium.

Something Rotten! follows the story of playwright brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, who try to compete against William Shakespeare. In their quest to create the perfect work, they embark on situations hilarious and absurd.
The presentations at the Luis Elizondo Auditorium will feature live music and more than 30 artists on stage.

The comedy is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theather Internacional (MTI).

A musical satirist
For the adaptation of this musical in englishcommented director Luis Franco, there was the translator collaboration and theater artist Alvaro Cerviño.
“We found one of the best translators in Mexico. Álvaro Cerviño is a very prepared man, who works on musicals in Mexico City; translates them and supports these productions.
“Es shakespearian researcherthat’s what he did his master’s degree in London. “It is a great show that we have in our hands”he asserted.
From 1966said the director, at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, teatro musical. After 10 years of not carrying one out, they return to the scene with Something Rotten!
“We have invested approximately thousand 584 hours of work among what we have allocated for choreography, tap workshop, assembly of actors and orchestra”he added.
Luis Franco is theater coordinator at Art and Culture and has belonged to Tec for 26 years.
