Il Nottingham Forest continues to amaze in the Premier League. He also wins at Molineux against Wolverhampton (0-3) and joins Arsenal in second place, moving to -6 behind leaders Liverpool (who however still have a game to recover, ndr). A truly historic feat for Espirito Santos’ team given that since February 2013, when they played in the Championship, they had failed to win 6 games in a row.
The last streak this long in the First Division was in 1967
In the Premier League they hadn’t even had such a long series since 1979: back then there were 7 victories but between two seasons, between May and September. To remember a streak of 6 successes in the same First Division championship you have to go back even further in time, to the spring of 1967.
He hasn’t conceded a goal in 387′
As in Liverpool’s away game against Everton, the protagonists of the victory were above all Gibbs-White and Wood. The midfielder opened the scoring after just 7′ by completing a triangle with Elanga, the New Zealand attacker doubled the lead in the 44th minute using a center from the left by Hudson-Odoi. The substitutes Ward-Prowse and Awoniyi then provided the hat-trick in full injury time (94′), with the former providing the latter with the assist for the 0-3 with an empty net. With this result the Reds also gain the satisfaction of extending their unbeaten streak to 387 minutes.
