About two weeks ago, West Ham and Arsenal agreed on a total transfer fee of 105 million pounds, equivalent to approximately 1.4 billion kroner, for Declan Rice. A price tag that will make the midfielder the most expensive English player of all time.
Despite the 24-year-old having passed the mandatory medical with the Gunners, the transfer has not yet been officially confirmed.
Sky Sports claim that West Ham are now becoming increasingly frustrated that the transfer is dragging on, as the club have not signed off on the deal. According to the TV channel, the delay is due to Arsenal’s lawyers not having completed all the necessary paperwork yet.
Although time is passing, there is nothing to indicate that the deal will not go through as planned, as it is formalities that have caused the confirmation of the transfer to drag on. Sky Sports claim Arsenal hope to present Rice before Sunday when the Gunners travel to the United States for a pre-season camp.
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season.
