The Premier League’s winter break has concluded after the second matchday last weekend, which means it’s time for a new Eleven of the Week.
Last weekend 18 goals were scored in five games, with several outstanding performances.
Our ideal team of the week has been selected, as always, using a specific player ranking algorithm.

José Sa was the standout goalkeeper of the weekend, making four saves in Wolves’ 0-0 draw against Brighton.
The goalkeeper had to intervene on several occasions to maintain the tie, despite the increasing pressure from Brighton throughout the match.
His performance helped Wolves keep a clean sheet for the fourth time this season.
Brentford had to work hard to overcome Nottingham Forest and defender Ben Mee played a big part in their 3-2 victory.
Mee scored the Bees’ second goal and was impressive defensively throughout the game, with five clearances, two tackles, two blocks and one interception.
Ibrahima Konate was equally important in Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Bournemouth.
The Frenchman looked rock solid throughout the match and provided the Reds with an important platform on which to build and dominate the game.
Konate touched the ball 100 times and made 71 accurate passes, while covering any danger with nine clearances.
Gabriel set the tone early in Arsenal’s 5-0 win against Crystal Palace, first with a corner goal and then with another shot into the net, to give the Gunners a perfect start against the Eagles.
His important contribution earned him an 8.1 rating, helping his team return to winning ways.
The Brazilian is part of a trio of Arsenal players who have made our Team of the Week.
With two goals and an assist, Diogo Jota was the highest rated player of the weekend, with a 9.2 in the match against Bournemouth.
The striker emerged as the best player of the match in the absence of Mohamed Salah, and the Reds extended their lead at the top of the table to five points.
His two accurate shots stood out, in which he demonstrated his natural ability in front of goal.

Another of the most outstanding players in Liverpool’s victory against Bournemouth was Alexis Mac Allister, who dominated the midfield throughout the match.
The Argentine was an important creative outlet for the Reds, making four key passes, while also having a positive impact at the other end of the pitch.
Mac Allister made an incredible nine tackles and three interceptions, contributing decisively to Liverpool’s excellent performance.
James Ward-Prowse has consistently been one of West Ham’s best players this season, and it was no different in their 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Sheffield United.
The midfielder scored a goal and completed four key passes, masterfully exerting his creative influence on the match.
Only a last-gasp penalty converted by Oli McBurnie deprived the Hammers of the three points.

The second of three Arsenal players to have made our Team of the Week. Gabriel Martinelli scored two goals in added time to lead the Gunners to a 5-0 victory against Crystal Palace.
The winger did not start the game, but came on with 20 minutes remaining and had a great impact, twice surprising the Palace defense to beat goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Martinelli’s performance wasn’t on par with Kevin De Bruyne’s last week, but it still earned him an 8.1 rating.
Forward: Gabriel Jesus, 8.1 (Arsenal)
Gabriel Jesus is the third and final Arsenal player to appear in our team this week, as well as the third Brazilian, the third Gabriel and the third 8.1 rating.
He was the Gunners’ leader, providing the assist for the third goal midway through the second half.
Gabriel Jesus was a creative threat throughout the match, creating two big chances and making four key passes.
Delantero: Ivan Toney, 8,3 (Brentford)
Ivan Toney made his long-awaited return to the field after eight months of suspension during Brentford’s victory against Nottingham Forest.
The striker was thrown straight into the deep end and captained the Bees to an important three points, even finding the net.
A brilliant free-kick, as well as his creative spark (he created a great chance) earned him an 8.3 rating as a player.
Another Liverpool attacker who excelled in their victory over Bournemouth was Darwin Núñez.
The striker scored two goals in the 4-0 win and also completed three key passes, showing that he is ready to fill the void left by Salah, as is his teammate Jota.
Particularly noteworthy is Núñez’s first goal, which culminated a beautiful team play by finishing the ball into the top corner.
