Premier League Matchday Highlights: Manchester City’s Dominance, Tottenham’s Last-minute Win, and Brighton’s Victory at Old Trafford

EDITORIAL.- With two victories of the Manchester City and Brighton as visitors, Saturday’s Premier League matchday was filled with goals, where Tottenham’s victory on the hour mark and Crystal Palace’s draw against Aston Villa also stood out.

In the first instance, Liverpool won convincingly 3-1 against Wolves at the Molineaux Stadium. Next, Crystal Palace drew 1-1 against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa; Fulham achieved the same result against Luton, who have not yet been able to win since their promotion to the Premier League.

Goodbye undefeated

Sheffield United was giving the hit of the day by beating Tottenham 1-0. However, in added time Richarlison (98) and Kulusevski (100) turned the score around to win 2-1. The Londoners remain undefeated in the tournament and reached 13 points in the standings.

For its part, West Ham lost its undefeated status, losing 1-3 to Manchester City. The ‘Hammers’ started hitting through Ward-Prowse, however, in the second half the ‘Citizens’ came back with scores from Doku, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.

Guardiola’s men continue to be the leaders of the classification with 15 points out of a possible 15 and on the next date they will face Nottingham Forest.

The Seagulls storm Old Trafford

Brighton continues to surprise everyone and confirm itself as a “tough nut to crack” in the Premier League, by achieving a resounding 3-1 victory at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

The victory began with Danny Welbeck, then Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro increased the advantage for Brighton, making it 0-3. However, Hannibal Mejbri scored in favor of the locals, for the final 1-3.

So, the ‘Seagulls’ played their fourth consecutive game without losing against the ‘Red Devils’, since that 2-0 win on February 18, 2022.
