MANCHESTER UNITED – BRIGHTON 2-0:
After an initial round where Brighton put United under pressure, it would only take six minutes after the break before Ronaldo put in the lead goal for the red shirts.
In overtime, Bruno Fernandes fixed the final score to 2-0, and thus Ralf Rangnick and his men can celebrate an important three points after a couple of disappointing results recently.
A few minutes after Ronaldo’s goal, Lewis Dunk also made the job easier for the hosts when he was sent off for a tackle on Anthony Elanga.
Good opportunities for both teams
Jadon Sancho had a huge opportunity to send United into the lead after just six minutes. Ronaldo found the 21-year-old on his way through with a nice heel flick, but the finish was stopped by a good Robert Sánchez in the Brighton cage.
Just before the break, only a good David de Gea prevented Brighton from taking the lead.
Jakub Moder rose between the United stoppers and got a good heading. The finish was good direction, but De Gea kept up with a brilliant save.

And after a goalless first half, it would not be long before United took the lead after the break.
Ronaldo received the ball inside Brighton’s half of the field, before pulling to the right and knocking the ball into the right corner.
If that wasn’t enough, Dunk had to see the red card a few minutes later when he fouled Anthony Elanga on his way through. Judge Peter Bankes first took up the red card, but after a VAR check it was turned red.

20 minutes before full time, Bruno Fernandes got a giant opportunity to double the lead. Ronaldo found the compatriot at eleven meters, but the finish from Fernandes was saved by Sanchez.
Just before the end, however, Fernandes set the final score at 2-0.
