The English football club Tottenham Hotspur has fired Jose Mourinh as head coach. He reported on social media on Monday. Mourinho allegedly refused to start training today. It was to be a form of his protest against the club’s participation in the formation of the new Superliga. The team will be temporarily led by youth coach Ryan Mason.
“The club can announce today that Jose Mourinho and his coaching team Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra have been relieved of their duties,” stated in a short opinion on twitter.
The 58-year-old Portuguese helmsman came to the team’s bench in November 2019, when Mauritius Pochettino took over. His contract was to last until the summer of 2023. Last season, Tottenham took sixth place in the table, with the club appearing in the ongoing game after 32 matches in seventh place. The Spurs won only one of the last five league duels and in March they dropped out of the eight-finals of the UEFA Europa League with Dinam Zagreb.
Tottenham will face a home duel with Southampton in the Premier League on Wednesday and will play in the League Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.
Mourinho suffered ten losses in one league season for the first time in his coaching career, the BBC portal reported. His charges lost 20 points in the duels in which they led this year. This is the most of all Premier League clubs.
