Paris Saint-Germain has been trying to find a buyer for striker star Neymar (31) for some time. In the coming summer, the French could be overrun by interested parties.
Le Parisien reported a few days ago about a meeting between PSG President Nasser al-Khelaifi (49) and Todd Boehly (49), the club owner of Chelsea FC. The Blues would therefore be eligible for a Neymar commitment.
After the extensive winter shopping spree, during which the Londoners spent over 300 million euros on new players, further transfers seem to be on the agenda. Since Neymar’s contract in Paris is still valid for two years, Chelsea would have to open their wallets wide again.
As is well known, the money on the island is a little looser than in the other leagues in Europe. It is therefore not surprising that, according to the online portal caughtoffside, other top teams are after the expensive Neymar.
In addition to Chelsea, Liverpool FC, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Manchester City are also said to be interested. Neymar, meanwhile, has already signaled his readiness for a transfer to England.
The Brazilian joined Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona in 2017 for the record transfer fee of 222 million euros. In France, however, he was never able to consistently build on his strong performances from the past. In addition, there are said to have been increased conflicts between Neymar and PSG figurehead Kylian Mbappe (23), which is why the latter initiated a sale of the South American.
