The former Liverpool profile actually hopes that the results will improve for the arch-rival.
Rafael Benítez’s first Merseyside derby in Everton’s managerial seat offered another downturn for the Spaniard.
The former Liverpool manager now has eight straight Premier League games without a win. Thursday is two months since the previous Everton victory in the league, at home against Norwich.

Since then, there have been six losses, and only two points from draws against Manchester United and Tottenham respectively.
An Everton that last season, at least in a flash, resembled a team that could take steps towards the top of the table, is now moving ever closer to a possible relegation battle.
At the same time, British betting companies report that Benítez now has the lowest odds of becoming the seventh manager to be fired in the Premier League this season. The 61-year-old tops that list ahead of Southampton’s Ralph Hassenhüttl, newly hired Watford manager Claudio Ranieri and Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers.
Get support
Former Liverpool hero Dirk Kuyt played for many years during Benítez’s reign at Anfield. The Dutchman says he understands the frustration of Everton fans now that the results are failing.
– It was already a difficult situation from the start for Rafa. If you have been the manager of Liverpool, and then become the new manager of Everton, there are of course many who doubt that plan.
– But I know Rafa, and he will do everything he can in the job and will do it as well as possible together with the support staff, Kuyt says to BBC Radio 5.

The man who gained a lot of trust from Benítez, and was used in a number of different positions by the ex-boss, continues:
– But if you lose a derby, then I can tell you that the atmosphere afterwards is not good. Fortunately, I won more than I lost, but I can imagine the situation at Everton right now, and it does not look good.
Kuyt adds that he thinks Benítez can reverse the trend at Goodison Park. However, the former striker emphasizes that the manager is not responsible for the downturn alone, but also points a finger at the club board at Everton.
– This sounds strange from a Liverpool man, but I hope they manage to turn things around, because I think Rafa in particular deserves better results over there, says Dirk Kuyt.
Miserable form
With 15 points in 14 games, The Toffees have a five-point lead down to Burnley in the relegation zone. The latter club has a postponed match in favor of Everton and the other teams in the lower half of the table after the game round in midweek.
After the loss to Liverpool in the rival settlement, the blue jerseys are definitely last on the form table for the last two months in the Premier League. Everton conceded four goals in a similar league game at home for the first time since 1982.

– I have to believe that we will do well. “I am convinced that we will have a good second part of the season, but we have to start winning to keep the faith, Benítez commented after Wednesday’s defeat.
– But the way we appeared in the beginning, and how we played when we had everyone available, that is the level I expect for the other half of the league, the pressured Everton manager continues.
The blue-clad from Merseyside lack star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and stopper profile Yerry Mina, who both have thigh injuries. In addition, Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucouré have lost several games after the promising start to the season.
Before the last eight games, and the statistics 0-2-6, Everton had four wins and one draw after the first six rounds.
