VALENCIA. While Manchester City insists on Josko Gvardiol for about 100 million euros or Arsenal awaits Declan Rice for about 116, the current English power in the market remains unmatched: 709.2 million euros of investment already in 23 transfers in just three days of registrations in the five major European leagues.
The ‘Premier’ sets the pace. His speed is unstoppable. Its ability to go to the summer market, opened on July 1, is not a novelty, although many of the operations are already previous. The five major leagues have already invested 1,557.40 million euros. 46 percent of them come from England.
It’s just the beginning. Nobody reaches it. The other four reference championships on the continent are not even close. Italy does not, whose Serie A teams have already bought this summer for 350.2 million.
It is 23 percent, half that in England so far, with Juventus in the lead, with 77.6 million euros used in formalized transfers for the new season: Manuel Locatelli, bought from Sassuolo, for 30; Moise Kean, paid to PSG, although he already played there, for another 30; Timothy Weah, from Lille, for 11.3; and Arkadiusz Milik, who was also there, by 6.3, according to data from ‘Be Soccer Pro’.
Behind is Spain, with 166.5 million euros in 22 transfers. 11 percent. In LaLiga, Real Madrid has moved 108 of those millions (64 percent), between the incorporation of Jude Bellingham, for 103, from Borussia Dortmund and the return of Fran García from Rayo Vallecano at the end of the course. Sevilla is the second, with 12 million at the moment.
THE BUNDESLIGA, SECOND WITH 206.5 MILLION EUROS
It is surpassed by Germany, with an investment of 206.5 million in 35 transfers, waiting for Bayern Munich to really move, with the wish of Harry Kane, for which a new offensive is being considered.
For now, Leipzig is the one that has spent the most, with 68 million euros between the reinforcements of Christoph Baumgartner (Hoffenheim), Benjamin Sesko (Salzburg) and Nicolas Seiwald (Salzburg).
Also because he has received a total of 130 million euros, from the sales of Dominik Szoboszlai to Liverpool (70 million) and Christophe Nkunku to Chelsea (60 million euros).
The next one could be Gvardiol for 100 against Manchester City. The negotiation is in process. The Croatian international central defender has communicated his desire to be transferred.
Waiting for the official hiring of Lucas Hernández by Paris Saint Germain or some more reinforcement of his multimillion-dollar project, which will now be directed by Luis Enrique Martínez, the French ‘Ligue 1’ is at the bottom of spending on transfers in the five major European leagues, with 124.8 million euros through 18 transfers in this initial period.
THE BELLINGHAM LEADERSHIP
The highest financial signing of the summer, so far, has been made by Real Madrid: Jude Bellingham, for 103 million euros from Borussia Dortmund. It is the exception that confirms the rule of dominance of the ‘Premier’, which monopolizes the remaining nine first places in this concept.
The second is Sandro Tonali, the Italian midfielder who has gone from Milan to Newcastle for 80 million euros; the third and fourth are Kai Havertz, from Chelsea to Arsenal for 70, and Dominik Szoboszlai, for the same amount from Leipzig to Liverpool. Fifth place is occupied by the transfer of Nkunku from Leipzig to Chelsea, for 60.
James Maddison, 46.3 million paid by Tottenham to Leicester, is sixth. His new teammate Pedro Porro, from which the London club is now executing the purchase clause of 45 million after his half-year loan from Sporting Lisbon, is the seventh.
The eighth is the Argentine world champion Alexis Mac Allister, sold by Brighton to Liverpool for 42 million; the ninth, Nicolás Jackson, the striker who had an impact on Villarreal with a phenomenal end of the year and transferred to Chelsea for 37 million; and the tenth is Joao Pedro, from Watford to Brighton for 34.2 million.
NOBODY HAS SPENDED LIKE TOTTENHAM: 141.3 MILLION
The club that has spent the most this summer in the five major European leagues also plays in the ‘Premier’: Tottenham.
His 141.3 million, in the absence of new events in other clubs around him, are unmatched so far, with the payment of Pedro Porro (45), the purchase of Dejan Kulusevski (30) and the transfers of Maddison, from Leicester for 46.3, and the goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, from Empoli by 20.
Then comes Liverpool, with 112. And, further on, Real Madrid, with 108.
Only the white club, Juventus (77.6), Leipzig (68) and Inter Milan (40.9) sneak among the English teams in that sense in the top ten.
In addition to Tottenham and Liverpool, Chelsea (97), Newcastle (87), Arsenal (70) and Brighton (54.2) are also in the ‘top ten’, according to the statistics of the platform ‘Be Soccer Pro’.
At the same time, the team that has entered the most through transfers this summer is Chelsea, with 156.6 million euros, the result of the sales of Havertz to Arsenal (70), Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City (29.1), Kalidou Koulibaly to Saudi Al-Hilal (23), Edouard Mendy to Al Alhi also Saudi (18.5) and Ruben Loftus Cheek to Milan (16).
