The Premier League will stage a preseason tournament this summer in the United States in which six of its clubs will compete.
Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Fulham, Brighton and Brentford will be participating in a nine-game tour in July, the Premier said on Tuesday.
“Our clubs have incredible fans in the United States who passionately follow their teams throughout the season,” Richard Masters, the Premier’s chairman, said in a statement.
Games will take place between July 22 and 30 in Atlanta, Orlando, Philadelphia, as well as Harrison, New Jersey, and Landover, Maryland.
Chelsea and Brighton will kick off the tournament at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on July 22.
Although several clubs from the English first division have participated in pre-season tours in the United States, this is the first time that the Premier has organized a tournament of this type there.
The Premier stressed that it is part of her “commitment to her followers in the United States.”
