Preliminary Investigation Opened Against MhNet Telecom for Poor Quality Internet Signal and Customer Service

After accumulating hundreds of complaints and official reports, the Municipal Secretariat for Consumer Protection and Defense – Procon Umuarama decided to open a Preliminary Investigation against the company MhNet Telecom. The registered complaints mainly accuse the poor quality of the internet signal offered by the supplier, which was announced this Tuesday morning (19).

According to lawyer Toninho Comparsi, secretary of Procon Umuarama, among the various complaints against the internet provider, cable TV and telephone operator MhNet, the most notable are allegations of signal oscillation and instability, slowness, constant signal drops and There is still a weak and/or non-existent signal in some rooms of the residence. “Everything will be investigated rigorously, consumers can be assured of this”, he guaranteed.

He reports that in addition to complaints regarding the low quality of the internet, there are also complaints regarding the cable TV signal and also digital telephone lines. “There is information that, when they signed a contract, it was promised that there would be 35 channels, for example, and they were being removed, the signal dropped, they were no longer transmitted, leaving 10 channels or less. The telephone line also has a series of complaints: that there is no connection, that it remains silent, that it simply does not make or receive calls”, he describes.

And there are also recurring protests from consumers who say they cannot speak to a human being at the Customer Service Center. “They only present the possibility for the customer to enter a service chat using artificial intelligence, which does not resolve the consumer’s questions and requests,” said the secretary.

Furthermore, according to Comparsi, there are also reports of excessive delays in telephone assistance, as well as failure to meet the stipulated deadline for carrying out repairs and reestablishing the signal. “They report that, when they manage to speak to an attendant, the promises that measures will be taken on that day are never fulfilled within that promised period”, he describes.

Comparsi clarifies that the Preliminary Investigation Procedure is an ex officio act, which seeks clarification from the company regarding the facts reported in order to determine whether there is an infraction to be investigated through an administrative sanctioning process. “MhNet has 20 days to comment on the questions raised in the process”, specifies the secretary.

Bemdito tried to contact the company by phone, however, the call was disconnected. An email was sent to the contact on the MHNet website requesting information and OBemdito is awaiting a response.
