With more than 70 points deployed throughout the regional territory, the vaccination campaign in Ñuble is in full swing, achieving 63% coverage of the target groups in inoculation against Influenza and 23% against Covid. -19 with bivalent vaccine.
Health protection strategy that has been strengthened in recent weeks, due to the increase in consultations for respiratory diseases, and which is concentrated in those prioritized groups that have the least coverage, such as pregnant women.
Along these lines, the health authorities went to Cesfam Los Volcanes de Chillán, reinforcing the call to join this strategy. In this regard, the Director of the Ñuble Health Service (SSÑ), Elizabeth Abarca Triviño, specified that, “once again, together with the professionals of the Seremi de Salud and the Municipal Health of Chillán, we are reinforcing the importance of vaccination in the community. Our teams continue to be deployed, with 79 vaccination devices available, bringing the process closer to the different sectors. We are going through days of high viral circulation, so we can still prevent the consequences of what the contagion of a respiratory pathology means. We know that immunization is key and today we promote the call to pregnant women, who represent one of the groups with the least progress in this process. Reaching only 35% coverage in Influenza and at the level of Chillán 31.1%.
“Unlike previous years, the increase in care for respiratory pathologies was brought forward, which has impacted the demand for our emergency units. This urges us as authorities to emphasize that it is essential to maintain preventive measures, such as vaccination with the duo, and make good use of the Assistance Network, thus avoiding the collapse of our establishments, “said the directive.
regional coverage
Jessica Inzunza, Nurse in Charge of the Immunization Program of the Ñuble Health Seremi, emphasized that “we have vaccines available for the entire community and also for pregnant women at all vaccination points. So far we have low coverage in this group, and for this reason the herd effect has not yet been achieved; that allows to protect the population to prevent viruses from circulating. The call is individual but also community, since when we get vaccinated we also protect the people around us”.
Likewise, Mireya Muñoz Cruz, Head of Immunization of the SSÑ, specified that, “currently the Region is in third place in the process of inoculation with Bivalent vaccine, however, this percentage continues to be low, especially in the group of pregnant women, which reaches 1.2% of inoculation and at a national level 0.94%”. Pregnant women are the lowest group in the campaign”.
Deployment in Chillán
Fernando Bustamante, Director (s) of the Chillán Municipal Health Directorate, pointed out that “at this time in Chillán, we have 6 vaccination points permanently enabled, in all our Cesfams, in addition to the Cecosf and Postas that we are in charge To this is added a point, which is fixed, in Mall Arauco, which works during shopping center hours, and we also have a mobile device, which goes through supermarkets, schools, which we are reporting daily on social networks ”.
A campaign aimed at the entire target population living in Chile, regardless of whether they are registered with Fonasa or Isapre or, if they are foreigners, their current immigration status.
The call is to join this campaign and get immunized, both against Influenza and Covid-19, in order to avoid serious situations caused by respiratory viruses that circulate at this time of year.
