Hello
Our number 3 is coming in November.
I’m actually on parental leave with No. 2 until August 23.
Because of my job, I am immediately banned from working.
It is always advised to end parental leave in order to receive maternity benefit.
But that’s not mandatory, is it?
Can’t I stay on the parental leave of No. 2 until the ET and then the parental leave of No. 3 starts from the ET?
I know the parental allowance is of course much less than the maternity allowance and that’s why I have less after the birth.
But that’s not the point. I would just like to know if this is possible or if I HAVE to end No. 2’s maternity leave so much earlier.
And a second question.
Do I have to end No. 2’s parental leave in writing or does it end automatically when No. 3’s parental leave begins?

You don’t have to end the EZ, but then you don’t get any maternity benefit either.
You should end the EZ for No. 2 in writing and apply for the one for child No. 3

If you do not end the parental leave of the 2nd child, you will only receive maternity benefit from the KK.
If you end the parental leave on one day for the new maternity leave, your contract will come into force again and then the share of the AG plus maternity benefit from the health insurance company
You get the rest of your parental leave.
You must inform the AG in writing with a doctor’s certificate with the ET or the start of maternity leave

Personally, I can’t understand at all why people would want to give away the money, but well, it’s none of my business.
You don’t have to end the EZ for maternity leave, not even before August 23. You can simply register EZ for the new child from August 23.

Then read Ms. Bader’s, every week an AP wants to end parental leave in order to go into full-time BV. There is such a bad sense of entitlement

That’s it.
I work in my parents’ business and I know what it would mean for them financially if I did that. And then of all times at the time when they already have massive losses due to the many public holidays.
It’s financially viable for me. It would be really hard for her. That’s why I’m happy to give up.

It’s alright.
You will then only get maternity benefit from the health insurance fund and then parental benefit, the minimum rate.

That’s not allowed by law either. But for the new maternity leave, that is very well allowed.
If you do without it like here, that’s totally ok.
