LONDON > After returning to work after maternity leave in Britain, a pregnant woman was fired from her job. The employment tribunal has awarded a compensation of Rs 23 lakh to the woman who lost her job. Twenty-seven-year-old Nikita Twitchen, who was an office assistant in a private company in Great Britain, was fired from her job.
After losing his job at the company, he reported this to the Employment Tribunal. The Employment Tribunal judge found that Nikita’s dismissal was unfair. The company was not ready to respond although Nikhitha told the MD that she would return to work after her maternity leave in March 2022. Then the Employment Tribunal was approached.
The company’s response was that various positions were eliminated due to the installation of new software and that is why the young woman lost her job. The employment tribunal awarded the young woman compensation after she argued that the company was financially responsible, but could not produce any evidence.
