Pregnancy Services Temporarily Suspended in Matanie Due to Staffing Shortage

Since Wednesday noon, pregnant women from Matanie must go to Rimouski to give birth. Service will be restored on Good Friday morning at 8 a.m.

The Bas-Saint-Laurent Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) attributes this new service disruption to a lack of nursing staff.

These two days without service are added to the eight days of the two previous interruptions which took place last March. So far, this is the third break in service since the beginning of the year.

As has become a habit in these cases, the CISSS ensures that everything is set in motion so that future mothers can travel to Rimouski safely. Accommodation is also offered.
