Within the framework of August as the month of Bogotá’s 485th birthday, the consultant Kantar Ibope Media carried out a Target Group Index, TGI, a study that analyzed the preference of the inhabitants of Bogotá in terms of recreational activities and how they take advantage of the cultural, gastronomic and entertainment agenda that the city offers.
According to the respondents, it was found that precisely food-related activities take the lead Among the favorites, 62% of people indicated that one of their favorite plans is to go to a restaurant. But in addition, 59% enjoy cooking or practicing culinary activities.
“Multiculturalism is reflected in the tastes of the capital. We find that among the activities most carried out by the inhabitants of the ‘Athens of America’, are attend cultural events such as concerts, visits to museums, theater and opera, since 62% of those surveyed state that they attend this type of experience in Bogotá”said Carolina Ibargüen, general manager of Kantar Ibope Media.
In line with the plans to do outside the home, 53% of those surveyed indicated that they enjoy going to shopping centers, while 51% are inclined to take walks in the streets and related to it, 42% enjoy taking pictures; Then there are the parks as the preferred space to visit and spend time in them.
Barbecuing and meeting with friends is among the favorites for 40%, which may be related to the fact that the activities are usually complementary. And closing is the practice of sports, chosen by 39% of those surveyed.
Activities to do at home
In addition to the culinary activities, already mentioned, in the preferences for enjoy free time at home, is watching streaming content with 46%, taking into account the wide range of platforms to watch movies, series or live videos.
Also, 44% of those surveyed continue to bet on enjoying leisure with mental games such as puzzles, crosswords and sudokus. Close to this group, is 43% of people who are inclined to the habit of reading; and in the same proportion, there is the interest in collecting comics, figures or other elements.
And finally, but with a not inconsiderable 40% of those surveyed, there are activities related to decorating the house, crafts, gardening and the like.
