On the morning of Tuesday 5 November the Prefect of Terni, Dr. Antonietta Orlando, who took office last 7 October, visited the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Terni. He was received by the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri of Terni, Colonel Antonio De Rosa, together with all the officers of the headquarters, including the Commander of the CC Forestry Group and the Commanders of the 3 Territorial Companies of Terni, Amelia and Orvieto.
During a short briefing, attention was paid to the situation of public order and safety in the Province and to the trend of crime in the area, in the prevention and repression of which the Army is engaged on a daily basis, prosecuting over 70% of the crimes, thanks also to its widespread distribution, with 30 stations in the 33 municipalities of the Terni area.
Col. De Rosa also illustrated the institutional objectives in the short/medium term and the structure of the Provincial Command, describing the activities carried out by its various branches, including the Forestry component, whose Group, since last summer, has been relocated to interior of the barracks in via Radice. The Prefect then visited the premises of the Provincial Command, meeting the staff on duty and stopping for a long time inside the Operations Centre, the beating heart of the territorial force, where the NUE 112 is attested, the citizen’s first interface in the event of emergency.
At the end of the visit, the Provincial Commander, in thanking the Prefect for the constant guidance and kindness shown in this first month of his stay in the capital, intended to pay homage to him with a simple but very representative gift, a majolica with the image of the Virgo Fidelis, Patron Saint of the Army, whose anniversary will also be celebrated shortly.
