Predictions for the 2017 DKI gubernatorial election will be repeated in the 2024 presidential election, Denny Siregar: This is what the palace is afraid of

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Social media (Medsos) activist, Denny Siregar, issued a serious warning regarding the potential for events that could be repeated in the Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Denny compared it to the 2017 DKI Jakarta Governor Election which was full of turmoil.

“The 2017 DKI gubernatorial election is an example,” said Denny in his statement on the X application @DennySiregar7, Saturday (13/1/2024).

According to Denny, this comparison has special relevance because in the 2017 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election, surveys showed Ahok’s high electability in the first round.

However, the situation changed drastically in the second round, where Anies Baswedan, who was initially in the lowest survey position, finally emerged as the winner.

“Ahok, whose survey was always high in the first round, finally collapsed in the second round by Anies, whose survey was at the bottom from the first,” said Denny.

Denny Siregar warned against ignoring the potential for dramatic changes in candidate electability.

He emphasized that the survey results in the first round did not always reflect the final results.

This social media activist highlighted the importance of the public understanding the political dynamics that can occur during the campaign and paying special attention to shifts in electoral support in the second round.

“This is what the palace is afraid of, so they have to finish in one round,” he said.

Frankly, Denny said that if the 2024 presidential election continues in the second round, it is very likely that Prabowo-Gibran will experience defeat.

“Because of the second round, it is very likely that Prabowo will lose,” he said.
