The perspective of 2024 brings many expected changes regarding pensions, including the planned indexation and continuation of the “300 plus” program. Currently available information, published by various internet portals, suggests that the upcoming indexation of pensions will include both a percentage and a fixed component. Early government calculations point to a projected inflation rate of around 12 percent, which translates into smaller percentage increases.
However, according to reports from one of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s close associates, there is consideration of raising the value of the quota increases to even PLN 250, and perhaps even PLN 300, compared to this year. The main objective of this measure is to provide pensioners and participants of the “300 plus” program with greater financial support. Therefore, a year full of changes and novelties for people using these benefits awaits us.
Next year 2024 brings changes in the sphere of pensions, especially when it comes to minimum pensions. It is planned to introduce percentage indexation for pensioners whose benefits exceed the minimum threshold. The adopted growth rate is 12 percent. For those whose pensions fall below this limit, it is planned to raise the minimum pension by way of a quota increase. Currently, the minimum amount is PLN 1,588.44, and after an additional increase of PLN 300, it would reach PLN 1,888.44 gross.
It is also worth noting that persons receiving benefits below PLN 2,800 gross will receive guaranteed amount increases. However, for those with higher pensions, it will be more beneficial to raise the percentage, which is a response to the specific needs of older people.
