July 1st, 2022 – This Friday, the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga scheduled the matches of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 until mid-September 2022. In the Bundesliga, the dates were set up to the seventh matchday of the 2022/23 season, in the 2nd Bundesliga up to the ninth matchday.
As announced in mid-June, UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt will welcome German champions FC Bayern Munich to kick off the 60th Bundesliga season on Friday, August 5 (8:30 p.m.). On the first match day, 1. FC Union and Hertha BSC, among others, meet in the Berlin derby on Saturday afternoon (6 August, 3.30 p.m.), the first Saturday evening game of the season is played by UEFA Champions League participants Borussia Dortmund and Bayer 04 Leverkusen (6 Aug, 6:30 p.m.). On Sundays, VfB Stuttgart and RB Leipzig (7 August, 3:30 p.m.) as well as 1. FC Köln and FC Schalke 04 (5:30 p.m.) meet on the first day of the game.
In the following weeks there were numerous other direct encounters between European Cup participants, including on the second day of play Sport-Club Freiburg against Borussia Dortmund (Friday, August 12, 20:30) and RB Leipzig against 1. FC Köln (Saturday, Aug. 13, 3:30 p.m.); on the third match day 1. FC Union Berlin against RB Leipzig (Saturday, August 20, 6:30 p.m.) and Eintracht Frankfurt against 1. FC Köln (Sunday, August 21, 3:30 p.m.); on the fifth match day Union Berlin against FC Bayern and Leverkusen against Freiburg (each on Saturday, September 3, 3:30 p.m.) and Frankfurt against Leipzig (September 3, 6:30 p.m.); on the sixth matchday, Leipzig versus Dortmund (Saturday, September 10, 3:30 p.m.) and Cologne versus Union Berlin (Sunday, September 11, 3:30 p.m.). The “Revierderby” between Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04 will take place on the seventh day of the game on Saturday, September 17 (3:30 p.m.).
For the 2nd Bundesliga, the DFL recently announced the opening game between 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Hannover 96 (Friday, July 15, 2022, 8:30 p.m.) and the exact times of the first two match days. Now, among other things, the third matchday with the Bavarian duel SSV Jahn Regensburg against 1. FC Nürnberg (Saturday, August 6, 1:00 p.m.) and the fourth matchday with the Saturday evening game SV Darmstadt 98 against FC Hansa Rostock (13. August, 8:30 p.m.) scheduled. On the sixth matchday, in addition to the game between 1. FC Nürnberg and Hamburger SV (Saturday, August 27, 8:30 p.m.), the duel between promoted Kaiserslautern and 1. FC Magdeburg (Sunday, August 28, 1:30 p.m clock) instead. On the seventh day of the game there will be two matches between Bundesliga founding members: Eintracht Braunschweig will host 1. FC Nürnberg (Friday, September 2, 6:30 p.m.) and Hamburger SV will host Karlsruher SC (Saturday, September 3, 8:00 p.m. 30 p.m.). The eighth matchday includes the North duel between Holstein Kiel and HSV (Friday, September 9, 6:30 p.m.) and the Lower Saxony derby between Hannover 96 and Eintracht Braunschweig (Saturday, September 10, 1:00 p.m.) on.
Bundesliga matches are broadcast live on DAZN on Fridays and Sundays, and on Sky on Saturdays and during “English Weeks”. The opening game between Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Bayern Munich will also be broadcast live on free TV on SAT.1.
All Bundesliga 2 games are broadcast live on Sky, and the matches on Saturday evening can also be seen live on free TV on SPORT1. The opening match between 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Hannover 96 will also be broadcast live on free TV on SAT.1.
The matchdays now scheduled will be followed by a FIFA suspension period for international matches (September 19th to 27th), before Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches resume on Friday, September 30th.
The next timed appointments for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, taking into account the international club competitions, is expected to take place in the 35th calendar week between August 29th and September 2nd.
