Precipitation of rocks closes the E16 in Bergen

The police report that it is the Sætretunnelen in Arna that has been closed due to falling rocks.

– You do not have to be a psychic to understand that this will trigger chaos and queues , says traffic operator Ronny Sleire in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration Bergens Tidende.

A motorist reported to the newspaper around 6 pm that it is chaotic on the bypass road through Ytre Arna. Vegtrafikksentralen believes that road users must line up in queues for a good while beyond Sunday evening.

According to the police, a contractor is on his way to the tunnel where the stones have fallen. A guide car will direct the traffic on the bypass through the evening.

The case is being updated.
