The suspect in the deadly shooting at a McDonald’s in Zwolle at the end of last month will remain in pre-trial detention for 90 days longer. He is also still not allowed to speak to anyone other than his lawyer.
“The man is suspected of a serious offense and there is a shocked legal order,” said the Overijssel court. “The investigation by the police and the Public Prosecution Service is also still in full swing.”
The 32-year-old man is suspected of shooting two visitors to the McDonald’s in Zwolle-Noord on March 30. The victims were two brothers, aged 57 and 62, from Zwolle. It was busy in the restaurant at the time. Panic broke out among the visitors, including children.
The suspect turned himself in to the police in Deventer later that evening. He is suspected of double murder.
