Pre-owned jewelery featured » Economic and political letter from PACA

If jewelery is a safe bet to please at Christmas, the second hand has established itself as a staple trend and, with it, the advent of vintage jewellery.

At Rivluxe, a second-hand jewelery store in Nice open since 2019, the trend is confirmed less than 10 days before Christmas: the store is currently recording a strong increase in attendance, +10% compared to last year. The numbers prove it: in the period in which the store generates a quarter of its turnover, the latter jumped by 30% for an average basket of 1,500 euros, +40% in 2022 compared to 2021. This enthusiasm, like the holidays approach, the brand has just added 800 references to its catalogue.

“Overall, we are witnessing an evolution in the typology of our clientele, with a significant Monegasque presence. The second-hand market is taking a new turn and becoming more democratic, with an upscale clientele who have a strong interest in vintage pieces. The store is currently experiencing a strong increase in traffic of +10% compared to last year. In search of new products, more and more consumers do not hesitate to go to our store, where we offer jewels from 30 to 60% cheaper than in the new market.” says Laurent Erard, manager of the Nice store.

Rivluxe: Making high-end pieces accessible to as many people as possible

Rivluxe opened its doors in Nice in the autumn of 2019 in the heart of the Carré d’Or. Since then, the brand has established itself in Marseille, Rue du Paradis.
The concept offers a wide range of second-hand jewels renewed by French jeweler-craftsmen of the greatest Maisons: a collection of rare jewels, of excellent quality at prices unmatched by traditional jewellery. Cartier Boucheron, Hermès, Fred, Pomellato, Bulgari, Chopard or even Dinh Van… Rivluxe makes high-end pieces accessible to as many people as possible.
