Everything is ready for the basic education pre-registration period. Due to the health emergency, the process will be virtual and schools must avoid person-to-person contact. Crispín Duarte Soto, head of the Regional Unit for Popular Education, assures that there will be no complications.
In the case of Michoacán, pre-registration will take place from February 1 to 15 and the indication that all schools must follow is to avoid person-to-person contact. So everything must be virtual. In normal times, cards are glued, where specific days are indicated and parents come on the established dates to bring their children’s documentation, in order to ensure a place within said educational institution.
In this regard, the head of the Regional Popular Education Unit, Crispín Duarte Soto, points out that “the pre-registration process is something that has already been worked on, so there will be no major problems. Schools with the greatest demand will be applying criteria to privilege little brothers of who are already their students. For example, if a child who is going to finish primary school, his brother can enter, who is already entering first grade. These are the criteria applied by the Secretary of Education in the State and it is more convenient for the institution ”.
Now, due to the pandemic, the process will be carried out virtually, without ruling out the physical presence of the people who go to the institutions; that is, afterwards the director will be able to summon parents to see the matter of pre-registration. At least in the eastern region there are almost 2,000 elementary schools, including preschool, primary and secondary.
WHAT WILL THE PRE-REGISTRATION BE LIKE FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR?
Pre-registration for the 2021-2022 School Cycle will be held from February 1 to 15, 2021. A platform will be enabled to register online and thus avoid being exposed to contagion.
