Prayers for MUI Ulama at the MPR Annual Session: Improve Our Leaders

While reading the closing prayer Annual Session of the MPR RI 2021, Monday (16/8), Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Da’wah Commission Habib Nabiel Al Musawa asking for improvement in leadership in the executive and legislative ranks.

This prayer is even repeated three times.

Nabiel also prayed that God would guide Indonesian leaders in upholding justice, in loving, and caring for the people. He also prayed that God would grow their love for his people.

“O Allah, guide our leaders to Your straight path, guide them to work for the true religion of Mua, make our leaders all examples who are guided by You, O Allah, by Your mercy, O Almighty Being Loving, “he explained.

He also prayed that God would improve the condition of the Indonesian people, especially in the midst of the ongoing corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic.

“O God, our God, give to our people, in our country, on this 76th Anniversary, improve their condition O God, reduce the prices of their necessities of life, and make them safe in their homeland This, “said Nabiel.

Furthermore, in the prayer, Nabiel also requested that the relationship between the Indonesian people be closer.

“And make them people who are grateful for all Your favors, praise only because of You, and perfect those favors for them, and end the Covid pandemic in this country, O Allah,” he said.

Previously, students, experts, activists, and the general public criticized the leadership of Jokowi-Ma’ruf and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, especially in handling the pandemic.

For example, the policy of half-assed and changing social restrictions, siding with economic interests rather than the health of the citizens, completing legal discussions that are minimal and full of political interests, and breaking campaign promises.
