Praveen/Melati Retired, Stopped in Semifinals

KOMPAS.com – Indonesian mixed doubles pair Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti were eliminated from Badminton Asia Championship 2022.

Praveen/Melati stopped in the semifinals after fighting with the second seed from China Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong, Saturday (30/4/2022).

Competing at Field 1 Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Manila, Philippines, Praveen / Melati lost because they could not continue the match alias retired.

Praveen/Melati can only play until the first game. When deciding to withdraw, Praveen / Melati trailed 8-21.

Fitness problems are suspected to be the reason Praveen/Melati cannot continue the match.

Thus, the final tickets for the Badminton Asia Championship were handed over to Zheng/Huang.

Zheng/Huang will face the winner of the match Wang Yi Lyu/Huang Dong Ping (China/3) vs. Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino (Japan/2) in the top match of the Badminton Asia Championship 2022.
