Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti eliminated from the event All England 2022. The Indonesian representative was defeated in the mixed doubles by China in the quarterfinals.
The round of 8 of the All England 2022 mixed doubles match between Praveen/Melati with Wang Yilyu/Huang Dongping. The duel took place at the Utlita Arena, Birmingham, Saturday (19/3/2022) early in the morning WIB.
The battle was tight from the start of the first game. Praveen/Melati reached the interval with an 11-9 advantage over Wang/Huang.
Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti took a 15-13 lead after the interval, but Wang/Huang were able to equalize 16-16. The Chinese representative reached game points with a 20-17 advantage.
Praveen/Melati grab three straight points and force a duel deuce 20-20. Wang/Huang managed to finish the first game with an advantage 25-23.
Praveen/Melati’s performance was okay at the beginning of the second game by winning five consecutive points. Wang/Huang slowly caught up and equalized 8-8 and 10-10, before Praveen/Melati reached the interval with an 11-10 advantage.
Wang/Huang reversed the situation after the interval to superior 15-12. Praveen/Melati tied the score at 15-15, 16-16, and 19-19. Wang/Huang managed to grab the last two points and ended the second game with a victory 21-19.
This result makes Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti failed to repeat their success in becoming the 2020 All England champions. Indonesia also certainly failed to place a single mixed doubles representative in the semifinals All England 2022.
