Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti win over Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith in the second match of the group stage BWF World Tour Finals 2021 at The Westin Resort, Bali, Thursday (2/12) afternoon.
Praveen / Melati trailed 0-2 first, but could reverse the position to 4-2. Eliss/Smith doesn’t make it easy for Praveen/Melati.
The British couple continued to stick to Praveen/Melati’s points. Eliss / Smith had equalized. After the score 6-6, Praveen / Melati again preceded the opponent’s points and led 11-8 in the first game interval.
Praveen/Melati continued to maintain distance with Ellis/Smith in the second half of the first game. Several failures of Praveen/Melati to cross the shuttle hinder their efforts away from Ellis/Smith. On the other hand, the world number 8 pair also made mistakes that made Praveen/Melati collect point by point.

The world number five pair appeared stable towards the end of the second game. Even though Ellis/Smith won points, Praveen/Melati could also add points and closed the game with a score of 21-13. A Jasmine netting closed the match.
Praveen/Melati suffered a rubber game defeat to Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai in the first match yesterday. Meanwhile, Praveen/Melati will face Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet tomorrow.
