Dammam> Saudi Malayalam Samajam announced this year’s awards. The Pravasi Mudra Prize is awarded to M Mukundan, a famous novelist and screenwriter. The award goes to Mukundan’s novel Pravasam. EM Ashraf, who wrote and directed the story and script of the film Uru, which expressed the pain of the return of the expatriates, received the Pravasi Pratibha award.
Officials informed that they will receive half a lakh of rupees and a certificate of appreciation in a ceremony to be held on November 17 at 8pm at Dar Asiha auditorium, Dammam. The award winners were selected by a jury chaired by journalist and writer Jamal Kochangadi.
