Several international airlines have encountered a significant problem – Airbus aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney has announced problems related to the operation of its engines.
The company has recalled more than 1,000 engines in total, and the situation could affect the operation of several US, European and other international airlines. Currently, they are in a hurry to look for spare parts and other engines in order to avoid flight cancellations, foreign media write.
The airlines operating in Latvia state that the engine defect of the specific model does not directly affect them, however, it may cause possible complications in the industry in the near future. In addition, Latvian companies are not unfamiliar with problems related to the operation of a specific engine manufacturer.
