From this week, the four-song mini-album “Pagalmi” released in the spring joins the “Prāta Vētras” vinyl collection.
The non-traditional format of the album has also determined the design of the vinyl – the “Pagalmu” record is the so-called small vinyl, that is, twice smaller than usual. The record cover was created with the help of artificial intelligence, following the instructions of the band’s musicians, which was then prepared for the printed version by graphic designer Didzis Bordo. Interestingly, the texts on the cover were written by Renard Kauper, whose handwriting was originally intended as a sketch of an idea. The dedication was also written by Renard himself: “We are all yard boys, this is a tribute to our childhood and to where the yard experience has brought us.” It should be noted that this EP is not planned to be released in the usual CD format.
“We are pleased to add the “storm” vinyl collection! Indulging our inner musical gourmands! Vinyl has survived through the ages – from jazz records to today’s world famous bands who release larger or smaller records. It’s touching to see this little roll of vinyl – it reminds us of childhood, when our favorite fairy tales were recorded on such small discs,” said the group “Prāta Vētra”.
The release of the record “Prāta Vētrai” is a summary of this summer, looking back at the grand conclusion of the two-year concert tour “Gads bez Kalenda” in Liepāja, which is also summarized in the video of the song “Pagalmi” made in the style of a “road movie”. “This was a great summer with concerts in Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. We caught and enjoyed every moment – meeting the listeners in Liepāja was, of course, the brightest and most heartfelt event. Let the next act of work be just as inspiring, encouraging and bright!”
