“Prāta Vētras” bassist Ingars Viļums entrusts his new song to Cowper’s double

Musician, composer and producer Ingars Viļums, who is better known to a wider audience as the bass guitarist of the band “Prāta Vētra”, has created a new song “Poem, where roses are blooming”, entrusting its performance to a completely unknown name – Armandas Lozinskis-Lūs.

Ingara Viļuma’s new song “Dzejolī, kur rozes zied” heralds the approach of spring and introduces an interesting vocalist to a wider audience. “There are special emotions behind this song in my memory chambers. The song was created at a time when everything in my life stood on the borderline. In the vocals, I wanted to hear something real and true – bittersweet sadness, which at that time also resided in me. It was Armand’s vocal performance that made the song even more emotionally saturated,” explains Ingars Viļums.

Armands Lozinskis-Lūsis is a native of Riga who has been participating in various musical activities since childhood, organizes the “Singing Contest”, creates original songs, plays music in clubs with his band and is recognizable in the radio single “Tici man”, which was made in cooperation with the “Rīmdari” association. However, he is most noticed in karaoke competitions held on TV as a performer of cover versions of the songs of the group “Prāta vētra”, because his vocals resemble the voice of Renard Cowper. It is no wonder that Ingars Viļums, who has collaborated with many local singers, this time decided to let Armand perform his new song. “One fine day, I received a message from Ingar as a surprise. I listened to the demo of the song and realized that it was made for me. Thanks to Ingar for the trust and cooperation, I hope that this lyrically melodious song will appeal to the listeners as well,” says the singer.

True, in this particular song, Armands Lozinskis-Lūsis does not sound so much like Kauper – rather like Mart Kristiānas Kalniņš, but that is for the listeners to judge.
