The concerts will be held in five cities of Latvia – on July 23 in Jelgava, Lielupe meadow opposite Jelgava Castle, on July 30 in Valmiera, in Dīvaliņa meadows, on August 6 in Daugavpils, at the “Lokomotīve” stadium, on August 13 in Ventspils, Renķas garden, and on August 20 in Riga, Mežaparka On the big stage.
While preparing for the concerts, the group publishes the video clip of the new album’s title song “Gads bez Kalenda”, which was made together with Asnati Rancāni, a member of the contemporary folk music group “Tautumeitas”. “The song was written at a time when everything happened remotely and darkness seemed to break in through all the cracks. The moments when “Tautumeitas” and “Prāta vētra” wrote their joint album songs in the studio were like an oasis where we refreshed ourselves and where new friendships flourished and a new duet. We were at the home studio of Ingar Viļums when I sang the last lines of the song “Tur, kur Dieva kamanas sliņ”. After the recording of this song, Renars told me to try to perform another song. Something so warm and happy arose in our joint sound that the song became a duet and later the title song of the whole album. “A year without a calendar” is not a song only about the time of the pandemic. The lyrics so aptly remind us that we can lift each other up just like a phone call. Sometimes a good conversation with a friend puts values together shelves, and the world is spinning more meaningfully again,” said Asnate Rancāne about the song.
At all concerts, Jānis Šipkēvics will perform as a special guest before “Brainstorm” with his solo project “Shipsea”, to tell the story of his experience in a musical language full of contrasts together with the accompanying group of musicians.
“Prāta vētra” concert program included both the tunes of the band already loved by the listeners, as well as songs from the new album “Gads bez Kalenda”. Kaspars Roga and Ainars Pastars (“Company NA”) take care of the visual concept and scenography of the stage of the concert tour, which will be complemented by magnificent light and video effects created by lighting directors and video artists.
“The first concert is very close! We will have five summer evenings together with friends and loved ones. No rehearsal can replace the big stage, so this concert tour, the reunion with our listeners is a very exciting moment for us. It will be one inspiring sing-along!” that’s how the tour was described by the group “Brainstorm”.
Ukrainians brought to Latvia by war refugees can attend this summer’s concerts for free. To apply for attending a concert, as well as to familiarize yourself with the rules for attending a concert, you should go to group website.
