Kannur: Prashant, who has filed a complaint against Kannur ADM Naveen Babu in a bribery case, works as a contract employee at Pariyaram Medical College. A petrol pump is to be established in Chemagai by leasing the land belonging to the church for 20 years. At least 80 lakh rupees are required to set up the pump. The attempt was to take over the dealers BPCL. Prashant approached ADM for construction permission for the pump. PP Diviya’s husband also works in Pariyaram Medical College. Both of them are claimed to be acquaintances. Divya, who did not come uninvited to the farewell meeting, said that she had taken a bribe to allow Prashant to install the pump. Naveen Babu was found dead the next day. After that, Prashant came forward with a complaint that Naveen Babu had taken a bribe of Rs 98500. A complaint was also given to the Chief Minister through WhatsApp.
Veen Babu’s body was taken to native Pathanamthitta. The body was brought to Pathanamthitta in the afternoon and shifted to the mortuary of the district hospital. Naveen Babu’s public darshan and cremation will be held tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Naveen’s brother filed a complaint with the police demanding that a case be filed against PP Divya, who had made allegations against Naveen Babu. The complaint has also demanded an investigation into Prashanth’s place, which was installed for the controversial pump. The brother said that the police will not take a specific case on the complaint and that there are doubts about the death and the mystery should be removed.
A complaint was lodged with the police but no case was registered. There is a conspiracy behind these unprecedented allegations against such an honest officer. The police can file a case and investigate without a preliminary investigation. But it hasn’t happened yet. The brother said if there is no action, he will proceed legally.
