Tokyo: Three people have been arrested for making a dirty prank video at a restaurant serving Japan’s famous fish dish ‘sushi’. A group of youths made several dirty videos in the restaurant chain ‘Kura Sushi’. It was also popularized in the social media under the name of ‘Sushi Terrorism’.
The clip shows him taking a piece of sushi from a plate and putting it in his mouth as he walks through the restaurant and sipping soy sauce from a bottle for everyone to use. Similar videos shot at various restaurants of ‘Kura Sushi’ appeared on platforms including Twitter and TikTok last month. The group also made videos like touching ‘sushi’ with their fingers in their mouths, licking cups of tea and then putting them on the shelf.
After the videos went viral, there was a huge outcry on social media. Police say that there was an attempt to disrupt the business of ‘Kura Sushi’. Two youths and a girl were arrested. Officials say this is the first arrest of its kind in Japan, a country that places great importance on cleanliness.
