Indonesian men’s doubles Pramudya Kusumawardana/Jeremiah Rambitan be a champion Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) 2022 after beating Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik at Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Manila, Sunday (1/5).
Pramudya/Jeremiah showed great resistance against Aaron/Soh in the first game. Having been left behind throughout the match, Pramudya/Yeremia were able to get up at the end of the first game.
Pramudya / Jeremiah managed to equalize 18-18. The non-seeded Indonesian men’s doubles even got in a position game point 20-19. However, Aaron/Soh were able to get out of the pressure by canceling Pramudya/Yeremia’s game points twice.
The Indonesian men’s doubles then secured a 23-21 victory over Aaron/Soh after Pramudya’s drive couldn’t be returned by Aaron.
At the beginning of the second game, Pramudya / Jeremiah were able to step on the gas to be able to lead 8-2 over the Malaysian doubles which won the bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics.
Pramudya / Jeremiah continued to maintain the advantage until the second game interval. Pramudya/Yeremia are able to lead 11-6 over Aaron/Soh.
Pramudya/Jeremiah’s fast game really made Aaron/Soh difficult in the second game. Without mercy, Pramudya/Yeremia finally managed to reach 10 match points when they were leading 20-10.
Pramudya/Yeremia finally secured victory in the second game 21-10 and won the 2022 Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) title after Aaron Chia made a mistake.
Indonesia has the opportunity to add one more title at BAC 2022 after Jonatan Christie will face Malaysia’s men’s singles, Lee Zii Jia, in the men’s singles final.
