Revanna was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 4 in a case of abduction of the former housekeeper. The arrest was based on a complaint filed by the woman’s son. The police had earlier arrested Satish Babanna, a native of Mysuru, who was accused along with Revanna in the case. The alleged abductee was later rescued by detectives from the farmhouse of Revanna Rajashekhar’s helper in Hunsur.
Revanna’s lawyer, CV. Nagesh argued. The lawyer argued that his arrest was unnecessary and that he could be released after questioning. The woman did not complain that she was trapped. The lawyer also pointed out that the woman revealed through the video that she was not kidnapped by Revanna or her family. However, Special Public Prosecutor Jaina Kothari and Additional Public Prosecutor Ashok Naik, appearing for the SIT, said the woman’s statement was recorded before the judge and she had given a statement Revanna’s face. The Special Public Prosecutor also argued that the woman was abducted by Revanna’s followers on April 29.
