Silandro – Ramona Kuen from the municipality’s own institution “Schlanders Marketing” was at the most recent municipal council meeting with a look back at the year that is coming to an end and a preview of 2024. The initiatives, events and offers that “Schlanders Marketing” organized or coordinated throughout the year in collaboration with clubs, associations, cultural organizations and many other partners included, among others, the plant exchange market, the “Movie Nights” and the Schlanders summer evenings , shop window campaigns and various markets, ranging from the weekly farmers’ market to the “SelberGMOCHT” event market. Ramona Kuen called the Schlanders village festival the highlight of this year. The fairytale autumn came to an end last Saturday and was once again very popular. The ice skating rink on Kulturhausplatz will open on Saturday, November 25th. You can have fun on the ice in the heart of Silandro until January 28, 2024. Several council members praised the diverse activities of “Schlanders Marketing”. The work that Ramona Kuen does in looking after the community’s social media and other information channels is also valuable.

Marble Symposium Vinschgau
In addition to tried-and-tested offers and events, the new year’s program also includes new initiatives. “Schlanders Marketing” is involved, among other things, in organizing the first edition of a joint, international marble symposium, which the municipalities of Schlanders and Laas together with the self-administration of Laas and Göflan, the operators of the two marble quarries (Lasa Marmo GmbH and Göflaner Marmor GmbH), organized by the Schlanders-Laas Tourism Association and many other partners and supporters in the summer of 2024. The symposium lasts 3 weeks. Six international artists, among others, are expected in Lasa. A broad supporting program is already being worked on in both communities. According to Mayor Dieter Pinggera, the Vinschgau Marble Symposium is likely to be a highlight of the South Tyrolean event summer with international appeal. State Governor Arno Kompatscher took over the patronage. The symposium should not remain a flash in the pan. Pinggera: “It is already certain that after the first edition next year there will be a second symposium in 2026.” It remains to be seen whether a two-year rhythm can be maintained in the following years. Pinggera estimated the cost of the first symposium at around 250,000 euros.
