JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The attitude of the Head of the Shura Council Community partyAmien Rais changed when his party qualified to participate in the 2024 election.
He praised President Joko Widodo and the General Election Commission (KPU), who have been major contributors to his party’s success.
Although before his death, Amien suspected that there were parties preventing his party from participating in the 2024 presidential election.
The tripping issue is not without reason. Starting from a telephone conversation that allegedly involved the commissioner of the KPU NTT, Lodowyk Fredrik, with the head of the Election Implementation Technical Bureau of the RI KPU, Melgia Carolina Van Harling.

This conversation allegedly occurred during the factual verification period of political parties participating in the 2024 election. FYI, NTT is one of the 2 provinces where it was stated that the Ummat Party failed the membership factual verification.
However, when the Ummat Party finally passed, Amien also said he forgave those who tripped him up, whether they existed or not.
“There or not (the part trying to deal with), no bad feelingwe forgive,” Amien said at the General Election Commission (KPU) Office of the Republic of Indonesia, Menteng, Jakarta on Friday (12/30/2022).
Praise Jokowi
When his party was approved, Amien praised President Joko Widodo for becoming the nation’s teacher after his term as president ends next year.
He delivered this eulogy along with his message to Jokowi regarding the 2024 presidential election. He asked Jokowi not to be tempted by the offer of another presidential term echoed by one party.

“Please President Jokowi forget the shadow of adding 2 years, 3 years (term of office),” Amien said when meeting at the General Election Commission (KPU) RI office, Menteng, Jakarta , Friday (30/12/2022).
“So, God willing, we advocate, hopefully our current president, Pak Jokowi, on October 20, 2024 will be finished, retired. God willing, become the master of the nation, and so on,” he explained.
Without forgetting, he asked Jokowi to commit to holding the elections on time, according to a pre-established schedule.
“This is my message to President Jokowi. Hopefully, the 2024 election will never be postponed or postponed. For no reason,” he said.
Praise KPU
Not only Jokowi, Amien Rais also praised the KPU ranks. The praise is related to the performance of the KPU which is willing to be opened with improvements after the Ummat Party is declared Not Qualified (TMS).
According to him, without the open attitude of the KPU, the Ummat party might not be able to fight to become a contender for the 2024 elections.
“Indeed, alhamdulillah, the beauty of democracy in Indonesia. It means he is always open to improvements,” she said.
Amien stressed that he was not looking for enemies to fight for the fate of the Ummat Party. Instead, she wants to find as many political partners as possible with a similar perspective.
“God willing, we will approach the fight in the future in a truly transparent way,” said Amien.
