Formula 1 in the streets of Prague

Red Bull Showrun presented by foodora brings an exciting combination of motorsport with urban show and entertainment. It is an event that is popular with both motorsport lovers and adrenaline fans. An event that features elite competitors in the iconic streets of the metropolis. An event that will visit Prague’s Karlín on August 17th with a packed program and an exciting show. “Thanks to our event, many spectators have the opportunity to see a racing car live for the first time. When they first see and hear it up close, they are shocked at how fast and loud it is. They always cheer at the end of the show. And we are excited to present the Red Bull Showrun in Prague,” says Chris Gregory from the Red Bull Racing team.

The iconic RB7 car

The Red Bull Racing team will bring to Prague the iconic RB7 car deployed for the year 2011, in which the German Sebastian Vettel and the Australian Mark Webber achieved twelve victories during the eighteen grands prix, Sebastian Vettel became the world champion and Red Bull Racing won the Constructors’ Cup. “The RB7 is a car with 750 horsepower and a 2,400 cc eight-cylinder engine that can handle up to 18,000 revolutions per minute, weighs approximately 650 kilograms and can shoot from zero to 100 km/h in less than three seconds,” describes the car Chris Red Bull Racing’s Gregory and Formula 1 commentator Štěvo Eisele add: “The naturally aspirated V8 under the hood of the RB7 is something you don’t normally get to experience anymore, and hearing it race on the streets will be an experience of a lifetime.”

David Coulthard behind the wheel

The legend of world motorsport, Scottish pilot David Coulthard, who won thirteen grand prizes in Formula 1, will sit behind the wheel. He won the historic first podium for the Red Bull Racing team at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2006. DC, as he is called by the first letters of his first and last name, has a warm relationship with Prague. “I have a lot of friends here. I actually go here more often than my native Scotland. Prague is beautiful. From sights to gastronomy to great people. I believe that we will put on a show that will be remembered for a long time,” notes Coulthard, who presented a project supporting women in motorsport in Prague last year.

Stunts on a motorcycle

The motorsport festival will present the art of many other drivers as well. One of them is Arūnas “Aras” Gibieža from Lithuania, who will perform physics-defying stunts on his KTM 990 DUKE “THE SNIPER”. He will also bring a wheelie simulator with him to Prague and promises to teach the audience how to drive on the back wheel. “Trust me, it only takes five minutes and you will do your first wheelie in your life,” describes the always positive stuntman.

Drifting at the highest level

Johannes and Elias Hountondji from Germany, multiple champions in international drifting competitions, will also heat up the surface on Rohanské nábreží. In their BMW M4 G82 drift cars, each boasting over 1,000 horsepower, they are ready to introduce the general public to drifting as a racing sport. “We will replicate the Drift Masters competition with several individual runs that correspond to the qualifying runs, and we will also add maneuvers that we are training specifically for the Prague stop,” tease the Driftbrothers duo.

Pit stop Challenge for yourself

As part of this event, you will be able to test your dexterity and try changing the real wheels of a single-seater on a real machine chassis weighing 880 kilograms. There must be two of you to change and your task will be to change the front tire of the F1 single-seater in the shortest possible time. You will have five attempts to change shoes. However, it is not a classic competition, but to have fun and try what you usually only see as spectators. In addition to this challenge, you can also take a close look at the Red Bull Static Car (a static model of the formula). Both of these options will be offered by the Fan Zone, which will be accessible to visitors on Friday, August 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday, August 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., but only with a valid Red Bull Showrun ticket.
