Praguers spend tens of hours a year in convoys. However, the Czech city is much worse off

We don’t like them, we try to avoid them at all costs, but each of us will end up in them sooner or later. We are talking about columns that have been somewhat curtailed by anti-pandemic measures, but even so large cities are interwoven with them. Have you ever wondered how long you actually spend in the columns each year? That number is quite surprising, but it could be worse. In the Czech Republic, we are still doing well compared to foreign cities.

According to the ranking processed by Inrix in terms of columns, London comes first. The local congested drivers spend an incredible 148 hours a year, almost a week. Right behind is the French city of Paris, where drivers spend 140 hours a year in convoys. In third place was Brussels with 134 hours. One of the cities that is said to be one big parking lot is New York. But he placed only in fifth place.

It’s not that bad in the Czech Republic

Several Czech cities can be found in the ranking, but neither of them has London or Paris. Fortunately! If you expect the capital city of Prague to be the worst off, you are wrong. She placed 82nd with 51 hours in traffic jams. By the way, in 2020 it was in 47th place and those hours were 110! The same number of hours, ie 51, awaits drivers a year in Pardubice on average.

The worst Czech city is Hradec Králové. According to the ranking, drivers in the convoys spend 53 hours a year there. It is a longer time than, for example, in Brno, where drivers in convoys spend “only” 36 hours a year. But also than in Ostrava, where drivers lose only 17 hours a year. The best part is Liberec, where drivers stay in the convoys for 13 hours a year.
