Prague 11 will repair the bridge at Háje metro station, it will be officially named Otíkova lávka

The repair for 36 million is due to end in September.

The municipal district of Prague will repair 11 this year pedestrian bridge over Opatovská street at the terminus of metro station C Háje. The reason is her bad condition. Completion will also bring one change to the name. It will officially be named Otík’s Footbridge after one of the heroes of the Czech film Village in the Center.

Praha 11 reported on the start of repairs on its website. The contract for 36 million crowns was won by Edikt. The start of work is planned for March 1, 2023, preparatory work will begin during February. It should be finished this September. Traffic on the footbridge will be limited during the reconstruction period, but the footbridge will be accessible to pedestrians except for one week. The operation of the bus stop in Opatovská Street will not be interrupted, only the public transport stop “Háje” will be moved in the direction of Petrovice. The storage of the footbridge, pillars, drainage, railings, surface must be put in order, and the footbridge also needs to be repainted.

I am very happy that Otík’s footbridge will be repaired, I see it as one of the symbols of the South City. That is why we have also tentatively agreed with the contractor that its name, which was given in memory of the final scene of the legendary film Village in the Center, will be placed directly on the footbridge. Because this is how she entered the subconscious not only of the residents of Prague 11,” says Libor Vrkoč (HPP11), councilor for transport.

The bridge itself was built in 1990, at the time of filming there was a wooden footbridge.
